Lee Sang Yoon, Park Ki Woong, and Bong Tae Gyu Are Top IT Executives Whose Friendship Starts Crumbling In "Pandora: Beneath The Paradise"
“Pandora: Beneath the Paradise” has dropped a look at the drama’s “three musketeers,” Lee Sang Yoon, Park Ki Woong, and Bong Tae Gyu!
Penned by “The Penthouse” writer Kim Soon Ok and helmed by “One the Woman” director Choi Young Hoon, tvN’s “Pandora: Beneath the Paradise” will tell the revenge story of a woman who comes to realize that her picture-perfect life is not what it seems.
Lee Ji Ah will star as Hong Tae Ra, a woman who has lost her memories but otherwise seems to have it all, with a life that anyone would envy. When her wealthy and successful husband decides to run for president, Hong Tae Ra also finds herself entering the spotlight. However, when her memories begin to return, Hong Tae Ra realizes that her seemingly perfect life is actually a fabrication orchestrated by someone else as part of a devious grand plan.
The drama’s latest stills feature Hong Tae Ra’s husband Pyo Jae Hyun (Lee Sang Yoon) with his equally ambitious co-workers Jang Do Jin (Park Ki Woong) and Goo Sung Chan (Bong Tae Gyu) as they enjoy the spotlight together.
Lee Sang Yoon will star as Hong Tae Ra’s husband Pyo Jae Hyun, a genius entrepreneur and the chairman of the successful IT company Hatch. A born leader with unquenchable ambition, Pyo Jae Hyun steps into the public eye when he enters the presidential race.
Park Ki Woong plays Jang Do Jin, the husband of Hong Tae Ra’s best friend Go Hae Soo (Jang Hee Jin). Born a chaebol heir, Jang Do Jin is fiercely competitive and a top executive at Hatch. Bong Tae Gyu portrays Hatch’s eccentric research director Goo Sung Chan.
Although they are the three musketeers who have led Hatch to success, this trio’s once-solid friendship starts to get rocky when their various secrets begin coming to light. This leads to them growing suspicious of each other, leading to conflict that is both personal and professional. Stay tuned to find out what has shaken this trio after successfully building their joint college dream together.
In addition to the intriguing story, a key point of this drama is the incredible acting chemistry between Lee Sang Yoon, Park Ki Woong, and Bong Tae Gyu. On their teamwork, Lee Sang Yoon commented, “The process of noisily making new scenes with Park Ki Woong and Bong Tae Gyu was very fun. It was an interesting and stimulating set where we adjusted to each other well.”
As the drama’s most charming point, Park Ki Woong chose its unpredictable plot progression. He raved about their fun set where he was able to rely on his co-stars and elaborated, “Since our project is a script where the relationships of many characters are intertwined, I acted while focusing on that aspect of harmony.”
Describing his role, Bong Tae Gyu shared, “Geek Goo Sung Chan is someone who obsesses with great immersion if there’s something he likes or wants. I acted after thinking fiercely about what the most realistic expressions of this basic set-up were. I hope you naturally enjoy the image of Goo Sung Chan that gradually becomes more three-dimensional with each episode.”
The actor continued, “Since the three of us are around the same age, we became close quickly. When we’re acting, our chemistry fits perfectly even if we don’t say anything, so there were a lot of exhilarating moments. That’s how much of a happy and enjoyable project this was.”
tvN’s “Pandora: Beneath the Paradise” will premiere on March 11 at 9:10 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser here!
