Watch: "Boys Planet" Kicks Off 2nd Mission With Impressive Covers + Previews Original Songs For Upcoming Artist Battle
“Boys Planet” has commenced their second mission!
Mnet’s “Boys Planet” is the male version of the 2021 audition show “Girls Planet 999” that gave rise to Kep1er. Last week’s broadcast featured the first ranking ceremony where only 52 out of 93 trainees made it to the next round.
On the March 9 broadcast of “Boys Planet,” BTOB’s Minhyuk appeared as the program’s fourth Star Master and introduced the trainees to their second mission. Titled “Dual Position Battle,” the second “Boys Planet” mission involves contestants taking on two different positions: vocal and rap, vocal and dance, or rap and dance. The team taking first place overall will earn the special benefit of performing on Mnet’s “M Countdown.”
For vocal and rap, the mission tracks included (G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY,” BE’O’s “Limousine,” INFINITE’s “Man In Love,” and IU’s “Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms.” For vocal and dance, the song options were BTS’s “Butterfly,” TWICE’s “Feel Special,” MONSTA X’s “Love Killa,” and SEVENTEEN’s “Home.” Finally, contestants taking on rap and dance had to choose between Yoon Mirae and BIBI’s “LAW,” Crush’s “Rush Hour,” Jessi’s “ZOOM,” and H1GHR MUSIC’s “GANG.”

At the end of the broadcast, two previews were shared for upcoming episodes. The first teaser gives a quick look at the remaining performances in the dual position battle. The second teaser is for the trainees’ upcoming third mission, which is an artist battle. In this mission, fans will decide which original songs best suit their favorite trainees.
