BTS, SEVENTEEN, IVE, Kep1er, And VERIVERY Win At 37th Japan Gold Disc Awards
The Japan Gold Disc Awards has revealed this year’s winners, and several K-pop artists took home prizes!
On March 10, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) officially announced the winners of the 37th Japan Gold Disc Awards.
BTS snagged a total of five awards this year: in addition to winning the Best Asian Artist award for the fifth year in a row, they also won Song of the Year by Download (Asia) for “Yet to Come,” Music Video of the Year (Asia) for “BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO,” and one of the Best 3 Albums (Asia) awards for “Proof.”
Meanwhile, BTS’s Jungkook won Song of the Year by Streaming (Western) for his hit Charlie Puth collab “Left and Right.”
SEVENTEEN took home three awards for 2023: the group won Album of the Year (Asia) for their latest Japanese EP “DREAM,” as well as two of this year’s Best 3 Albums (Asia) awards for “DREAM” and their Korean studio album “Face the Sun.”
Over in the new artists category, IVE claimed the award for New Artist of the Year (Asia). This year’s Best 3 New Artists (Asia) awards went to IVE, Kep1er, and VERIVERY, all of whom made their Japanese debut in 2022.
Finally, Kep1er also won Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia) for their Korean debut track “WA DA DA.”
