BTS's J-Hope Becomes 1st K-Pop Soloist To Debut In Top 40 Of UK's Official Singles Chart With J. Cole Collab "On The Street"
BTS’s J-Hope has achieved a new milestone in the UK with his latest collab!
On March 10, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that BTS’s J-Hope’s new collaboration track “on the street” with American rapper J. Cole had made its debut on the Official Singles Chart!
For the week of March 10 to 16, “on the street” debuted at No. 37, making J-Hope the first Korean soloist in history to debut in the top 40 of the UK Official Singles Chart.
This achievement marks J-Hope’s highest entry on this chart, following “MORE” at No. 70 and “Chicken Noodle Soup” (featuring Becky G) at No. 82. With his third solo entry, J-Hope is now tied with PSY as the Korean soloist with the most entries on the UK Official Singles Chart. (PSY’s hit songs “Gangnam Style,” “Gentleman,” and “That That” all entered the chart at No. 61.)
Last year, J-Hope’s debut solo album “Jack in the Box” peaked at No. 67 on the UK Official Albums Chart, while BTS has two No. 1 albums in the UK with “Map of the Soul: Persona” and “Map of the Soul: 7.”
BTS also has four songs that have ranked in the top 10 of the Official Singles Chart, including “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” “My Universe” with Coldplay. As solo artists, BTS’s RM peaked on the Official Albums Chart at No. 45 with “Indigo,” with Jin’s “The Astronaut” and Jungkook and Suga’s “Stay Alive” debuting on the Official Singles Chart at No. 61 and No. 89 respectively.
Congratulations to J-Hope!
