TXT's Beomgyu And Taehyun On The Importance Of Humility, The Movies That Make Them Nostalgic, And More

In a new interview and pictorial for Elle Korea magazine, TXT’s Beomgyu and Taehyun talked about the group’s recent successes, the members’ chemistry, and more!

After posing for the magazine’s April issue in various retro fits for a ’90s-inspired shoot, Beomgyu and Taehyun were asked if there were any old films that personally made them feel nostalgic.

Beomgyu replied, “‘Mamma Mia’ and ‘Top Gun.’ Ever since I was young, I liked both the soundtracks and the films themselves.”

Meanwhile, Taehyun shared, “The films that come to mind are the ones that played a lot on movie TV channels when I was at home with my family. Movies like ‘Home Alone’ or ‘Shawshank Redemption.'”

In a reference to one of TXT’s beloved B-sides, Beomgyu and Taehyun have sometimes been called the “‘Blue Orangeade‘ duo” for having great chemistry despite their seemingly opposite personalities.

When asked about the nickname, Taehyun remarked that he didn’t feel like he and Beomgyu were particularly more different from one another than the other members. “Each and every one of the [TXT] members is different from one another,” he said. “I think it’s a nickname that would suit any combination of members within TXT.”

Beomgyu agreed with a laugh, “At first, we were so different that it took time to adjust to one another, but now we’re mixed really well like [blue orange]ade.”

TXT’s latest comeback was arguably their most successful yet, with their recent mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” and its tracks soaring to new heights on both the Billboard and Korean charts.

When asked to share their thoughts on all of their recent achievements, both idols agreed that they felt as passionate as ever about striving to take on new challenges and stand on bigger stages in the future.

Emphasizing his desire to remain as humble as possible, Beomgyu remarked, “I think this is only the start. I intend to become even more humble. I think that will inspire me to want to rise even higher.”

Meanwhile, Taehyun thoughtfully commented, “I want to feel a sense of responsibility for the fact that I might be able to influence more people than I thought. Working hard is just the bare minimum.”

Beomgyu and Taehyun’s full interview and pictorial can be found in the April issue of Elle Korea magazine.
