The drama will tell the story of Se Hoon, a model student who participates as a running mate in student council elections to reinvent his image and eventually becomes the central focus of the election.
Through films like “Parasite” and “Okja,” Han Jin Won has proven his strong writing skills time and time again and is garnering attention for the synergy he’ll create with this upcoming drama. For “Running Mate,” Han Jin Won will work alongside producers of “Recipe For Farewell” and “Midnight Runners,” as well as other veteran staff from “Parasite” and “Okja.”
Many new, young actors and actresses have been confirmed to be participating in this highly-anticipated project. The cast includes Yoon Hyun Soo, who captured the audience’s hearts in the drama series “Racket Boys,” Lee Jung Sic, who made a name for himself with “Tracer,” and Choi Woo Sung, who received endless praise for his role in the movie “My Perfect Roommate.” Additionally, Hong Hwa Yeon, Lee Bong Joon, Kim Ji Woo, Ok Jin Uk, Yoon Do Geon, and more have been confirmed to join the cast. Expectations are high for this talented cast of young actors who will portray the joys and sorrows of students in this new drama.
A member of the “Running Mate” production team stated, “Through an ordinary boy’s rollercoaster-like story that spans nearly one month, we wanted to encourage viewers to recall their past, reflect on the present, and have courage to drive forward into the future.” They then added, “We hope that this gives meaningful enjoyment to those who encounter this series.”
“Running Mate” is expected to come to TVING sometime in 2024.
