Lia Shares Thoughts On ITZY's Identity, Wrapping Up 1st World Tour, And More

ITZY’s Lia has starred in her first solo pictorial with Elle Korea!

During Lia’s interview, she spoke about nearing the end of ITZY’s first world tour “CHECKMATE,” which wraps up in Bangkok next month. Looking back on the past seven months of their tour, Lia shared, “At first, it felt awkward to walk around such big venues in different places. However, I definitely came to enjoy interacting with fans everywhere. I also got the hang of distributing my stamina [evenly].”

She added, “Throughout the tour, I diligently ate a lot of yummy things in various cities, thinking ‘I have to try this’ even if I wasn’t hungry.”

On what makes ITZY most like themselves, Lia explained, “That we always try to spread healthy and positive energy, whether that’s on stage or in our everyday lives. I like the energy that emerges when the five of us are together. Even if they’re small, there are so many moments when we feel happy among ourselves.”

ITZY’s latest title track “Cheshire” shares the message of believing in one’s feelings since there are no fixed answers in the midst of so many confusing questions and worries. Just like this message, Lia was asked if she’s enjoying and living in the moment, to which she responded, “I think I’m living diligently. Whether I’m happy or going through a hard time, I believe that the way I feel those emotions deeply is proof that I’m moving forward sincerely and wholeheartedly. With these steps that I’ve done my best for as the foundation, I hope that I’ll be able to run more freely in the future.”
