Watch: "Peak Time" Kicks Off New Song Battle + Partially Reveals Current Rankings
For the first time on JTBC’s idol survival show “Peak Time,” the contestants competed with songs of their very own!
“Peak Time” is a show in which teams compete for the chance to become the next “worldwide idol group.” Unlike other audition programs, its contestants consist entirely of male idols who have already debuted, whether currently active or part of a disbanded group, and they compete “anonymously” under temporary group names that correspond to different hours of the day.
On the March 29 episode of the show, host Lee Seung Gi announced that all of the rankings had officially been reset after last week’s eliminations. The global votes and benefits that the contestants amassed during the first phase of the program no longer count towards their scores, and they will be starting anew with blank slates.
This week’s episode marked the beginning of the “New Song Battle,” in which every team was given a brand-new song that now belongs to their group. The top two teams from last week’s rankings were given the chance to divide all 10 teams into two leagues, A and B, with the five teams within each league competing against one another.
League B, whose performances aired this week, consists of Teams 8:00 (DKB), 13:00 (BAE173), 14:00 (GHOST9), 15:00 (BLK), and 23:00 (DGNA).
Check out all of their performances below!
Team 8:00 (DKB) – “Coco Colada”
Team 23:00 (DGNA) – “Chamomile”
Team 15:00 (BLK) – “Nothin’ without you”
Team 13:00 (BAE173) – “CRIMINAL”
Team 14:00 (GHOST9) – “FEVER”
Spoilers
Although the panel of celebrity judges openly revealed their votes on the spot, the final results that include the studio audience’s votes will be revealed on next week’s episode.
The preliminary results for League B—before the addition of the studio audience’s votes—are as follows:
- Teams 8:00 (DKB) and 23:00 (DGNA) – tied with 8 votes each
- Team 13:00 (BAE173) – 7 votes
- Teams 14:00 (GHOST9) and 15:00 (BLK) – tied with 4 votes each
Finally, the episode ended by partially revealing the current rankings for the second round of global voting, which began last week and will end on April 6 at 9 p.m. KST.
This week, the program only revealed the four lowest-ranking teams, intentionally leaving the order of the top six a mystery:
7. Team 20:00 (M.O.N.T)
8. Team 13:00 (BAE173)
9. Team 14:00 (GHOST9)
10. Team 15:00 (BLK)
