Hwang Jung Min, Jo In Sung, And Jung Ho Yeon Confirmed To Star In New Sci-Fi Thriller Film
Global stars Hwang Jung Min, Jo In Sung, and Jung Ho Yeon will come together for a new sci-fi film!
On March 30, distribution company Plus M Entertainment shared the casting news of Hwang Jung Min, Jo In Sung, and Jung Ho Yeon for director Na Hong Jin’s new sci-fi film “Hope” (working title).
“Hope” depicts the desperate struggle of the residents of the isolated port town Hopo as they face a mysterious attack. The village is in danger of being destroyed as the residents start to search for an unknown existence that is witnessed on the outskirts of the village. The film is a new project of director Na Hong Jin who received rave reviews for his masterpieces including “The Chaser,” “The Yellow Sea,” and “The Wailing.”
Hwang Jung Min, who will be reuniting with director Na Hong Jin after working together on the film “The Wailing,” will take on the role of rural police officer Beom Seok.
Jo In Sung, who showcased his versatile acting skills through various films including “The Great Battle” and “Escape from Mogadishu,” will play a young hunter named Sung Ki.
Jung Ho Yeon, who became a global star through the Netflix series “Squid Game,” will portray police officer Sung Ae.
In addition to the Korean stars, award-winning actors and married couple Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender are set to star in “Hope.”
Director Na Hong Jin shared regarding the intention behind his new film, “The phenomenon of someone’s goodwill that is put in the shoes of many other people eventually leading to catastrophe is seen in various parts of our society. I am going to try to capture this phenomenon through this film.”
“Hope” will kick off production in the middle of 2023. Stay tuned for more updates!
