Watch: MBC's New Audition Show 'Fantasy Boys' Makes Long-Awaited Premiere With Exciting Admission Performances

MBC’s new audition program “Fantasy Boys” has finally premiered!

After previously postponing its premiere date by a week, MBC’s “Fantasy Boys” aired its first episode on March 30 with an exciting first look at auditions.

“Fantasy Boys” is the male version of MBC’s “My Teen Girl,” the audition program that gave rise to the rookie girl group CLASS:y last year. The show is hosted by TVXQ‘s Changmin with mentors 2PM’s Wooyoung, Jung Jinyoung, WINNER‘s Kang Seung Yoon, and (G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon. The program is divided into four “semesters” and the final 12 contestants who pass all four stages will make the debut lineup.

As the contestants got settled into their seats, many familiar faces created chatter in the crowd. The contestants of “Fantasy Boys” come from various countries, including China, Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan. Among the contestants are Thai actors Yaya and Santa, Ciipher’s leader Moon Hyunbin, Hong Seongmin who appeared in the “Fantasy Boys” teaser, Kim Wooseok, whose older sister is MAJORS’ Suzy, and Yu Junwon, a former HYBE trainee who competed on “&Audition – The Howling” which gave rise to &Team.

The premiere broadcast featured the contestants’ first admissions assessment where they performed in front of the mentors. If chosen by all four mentors, contestants were ranked “first class,” while contestants receiving only two or three votes were ranked “second class.” Contestants receiving no votes were put into “third class” and risked being eliminated from the competition with their admission being put on hold.
