8 Mouth-Watering K-Dramas To Watch If You Love Food
For the foodies at heart, there’s nothing quite like watching a K-drama and seeing people eat delicious food scene after scene. And when these binge-watching sessions happen late at night, it’s almost impossible not to have your stomach growl. The amount of K-dramas that feature a lot of food is almost endless as eating and socializing over food is a part of the culture, but there are a handful of K-dramas that are based on the theme of only food. Here are some of those K-dramas.
1. “Let’s Eat” series
Much like the title suggests, “Lets Eat” is centered around quite literally the characters eating. There are three parts to the series, but the first one in particular focuses on the life of Lee Soo Kyung (Lee Soo Kyung), who is single and lives alone but is obsessed with gourmet food—relatable!
This one is an obvious one mainly because the series consists of different characters enjoying their meals. Each part has various storylines, but they all revolve around Goo Dae Young, played by Yoon Doo Joon. Going through the pangs of falling in love, losing the one you love, and finding new love again, this entire series will have you on a rollercoaster of emotions until the very end.

2. “Wok of Love”
Seo Poong (Lee Junho) is a talented chef who gets fired from his high-end cooking gig at a hotel. He ends up working at a Chinese restaurant right across the street. The restaurant has no customers and is nearing bankruptcy, but Seo Poong takes it upon himself to turn it into a successful restaurant. He is hired by Doo Chil Seong (Jang Hyuk) and becomes the manager. He also hires Dan Sae Woo (Jung Ryeo Won) as a server, and the two become romantically involved, which is unfortunate for Chil Seong as he also has feelings for Sae Woo. The three work together to make the restaurant successful, but they are also entangled in this messy love triangle.
“Wok of Love” is a delight to watch for many reasons. Not only do you have Lee Junho and Jung Ryeo Won as the two leads, but you have the adorable bromance between Jang Hyuk and Lee Junho. The two are complete scene-stealers together! And when you have a great cast with the theme of food and cooking surrounding them, there really is nothing to lose. You’re guaranteed to be craving some jjajangmyun (black bean noodles) after watching it.

3. “Eccentric! Chef Moon”
Go Won Hee stars as Yoo Yoo Jin, a world-famous fashion designer who gets amnesia after an accident. When she meets Moon Seung Mo (Eric Mun), who is a chef, the two are forced to put up with each other while they figure out Yoo Jin’s way back home.
This series takes place in the countryside and involves a very sweet and cute romance between the two leads. There is also an adorable little girl who will steal your heart, especially with her interactions with Moon Seung Mo. With the chef constantly making delicious meals, there is no question that your stomach will be grumbling time and time again.

4. “Chocolate”
Starring Yoon Kye Sang as Lee Kang and Ha Ji Won as Moon Cha Young, “Chocolate” is about a man and woman who meet as children and face very unfortunate circumstances that drive them apart. They go through some tragic events that fatefully bring them together again as adults. Lee Kang becomes a successful brain surgeon, and Moon Cha Young is a chef. While Cha Young recognizes Lee Kang when she first reunites with him, he fails to recognize her, which makes for a very confusing and awkward situation for Cha Young.
If you want a K-drama that will touch your heart and soul, “Chocolate” is the one to watch. You not only have the delectable storyline of the two main leads trying to deal with past trauma and overcome it, but you also have Ha Ji Won brewing up some delicious meals. Your taste buds will be satisfied, and your heart will be healed—what more could you ask for?
5. “Dinner Mate”
The healing drama “Dinner Mate” stars Song Seung Heon as Kim Hae Kyung, a psychiatrist, and Seo Ji Hye as Woo Do Hee, who works for a media company. The two meet by chance and decide to have regular dinners together, discussing anything that is going on in their lives.
Based on the popular webtoon, “Dinner Mate” is a healing series that will completely win you over. It’s a unique series that will have you both craving the delicious foods that are shared in the show, but it will also give you a lot of insight on life and provide healing. Song Seung Heon and Seo Ji Hye are the perfect duo and are able to demonstrate so much steamy chemistry that you’ll be completely sucked in!
6. “Pasta”
“Pasta” is the hit 2010 K-drama that, much like the title suggests, is all about pasta. Lee Sun Gyun is the head chef of a pasta restaurant, and when he meets Seo Yoo Kyung (Gong Hyo Jin), he is not very impressed with her lack of skills. The two start in an enemy relationship that leads to romance.
It’s hard not to watch this show without having your mouth water over some delicious pasta. Lee Sun Gyun is still able to make his infamous pasta till this day and was able to show this skill when he guested on a variety show. There’s also the added bonus of seeing Gong Hyo Jin doing what she does best, which is charm the viewers into falling in love with her character.
7. “Baker King Kim Tak Goo”
Kim Tak Goo (Yoon Shi Yoon) has spent most of his childhood without knowing who his real father is. He discovers that his father is the president of a company that produces bread and pastries. Tak Goo also has a half brother who is competing against him to try and inherit the company, and the two end up falling in love with the same woman.
“Baker King Kim Tak Goo” was one of the most highly-rated K-dramas of all-time. People just couldn’t get enough of the rags-to-riches story of Kim Tak Goo and seeing him overcome the incredibly difficult obstacles that life threw his way. Foodies will also love the fact that there are constant scenes of bread and delicious pastries baking in the oven. You can almost smell the freshly baked goodies when they pull them out of the oven!
8. “Degree of Love”
Yang Se Jong plays On Jung Sun, the innocent and naive aspiring chef who falls quickly in love with a drama writer named Lee Hyun Soo (Seo Hyun Jin). The two share in their paths to achieving their dreams and fall deeper in love with each other. When Jung Sun gets an opportunity to move to France to further his cooking skills, he takes it but has to sacrifice his relationship with Hyun Soo. Fast forward a few years later, he returns, and the two meet again.
You’ll get a huge dose of stomach-grumbling visuals with this one as On Jung Sun becomes a Michelin star restaurant owner. The drive and passion that the character shows as he works toward making his dreams come true provides so much healing. You’ll appreciate the visuals of the elaborate dishes he puts together too!
