Kim Ji Eun And MONSTA X's Hyungwon Confirmed As New "Inkigayo" MCs
It’s official — Kim Ji Eun and MONSTA X’s Hyungwon will be the new “Inkigayo” MCs!
Earlier in March, it was confirmed that Noh Jung Ui and Seo Bum June will be stepping down from their positions as MCs on SBS’s “Inkigayo” while TXT’s Yeonjun will continue as an MC, but will be absent for approximately two months while TXT carries out their world tour.
On April 4, SBS confirmed that Kim Ji Eun and MONSTA X’s Hyungwon have been chosen to be the new MCs of “Inkigayo.”
Kim Ji Eun, who captivated viewers with her stellar acting in the hit SBS drama “One Dollar Lawyer,” is recently getting attention for her unexpected charm and funny nature after her appearance in “Running Man.”
MONSTA X’s Hyungwon is a well-known K-pop artist who has continuously proven himself as a talented singer and producer, being involved not only in making lyrics and composing for MONSTA X’s songs but also as a producer in other singers’ albums and even in music for advertisements.
Choi So Hyung, the producing director (PD) of “Inkigayo,” shared, “As Kim Ji Eun and Hyungwon are the same age and both are friendly in nature, they were able to create a pleasant atmosphere without any awkward moments even at their first meeting. With their witty talks, mesmerizing visuals, and extraordinarily excellent chemistry, we expect the two to bring a new wind to ‘Inkigayo.'”
Kim Ji Eun and Hyungwon will make their first appearance in “Inkigayo” on April 9.
