BTS's Jimin Becomes 1st Korean Soloist In Billboard History To Top Artist 100
BTS’s Jimin has dominated this week’s Billboard charts with his solo debut album!
This week, Jimin made history as the first Korean solo artist ever to top Billboard’s Hot 100 (its weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States), as well as the first to enter the top 2 of the Billboard 200 (which ranks the most popular albums in the U.S.).
On April 4 local time, Billboard revealed more of Jimin’s amazing achievements on this week’s charts: the singer topped no less than seven different Billboard charts this week, including the Artist 100.
With this unprecedented achievement, Jimin has become the first Korean solo artist in history to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Artist 100. Even including groups, he is only the seventh K-pop artist ever to top the chart (following his own group BTS, SuperM, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, TWICE, and TXT).
Meanwhile, Jimin’s first solo album “FACE” topped three separate charts this week. In addition to entering the Billboard 200 at No. 2, “FACE” debuted at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, Top Current Album Sales chart, and World Albums chart.
The album’s title track “Like Crazy” also entered three charts at No. 1: aside from topping the Hot 100, the song also debuted at No. 1 on both the Digital Song Sales chart and the World Digital Song Sales chart. Additionally, “Like Crazy” debuted at No. 2 on both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. chart this week.
Congratulations to Jimin!
