Lee Sang Yeob And Apink's Jung Eun Ji In Talks For New Fantasy Rom-Com Drama

Lee Sang Yeob and Apink’s Jung Eun Ji might star in a new drama together!

On April 4, an industry insider shared the casting news of Lee Sang Yeob and Jung Eun Ji as the main characters for the new drama “Genie, Earth” (literal title).

In response to the report, Lee Sang Yeob’s agency UB Management and Jung Eun Ji’s agency IST Entertainment each remarked that they are reviewing the offers to star in the drama.

“Genie, Earth” is a fantasy rom-com action drama that depicts the story of former prosecutor Gyu Tae, who accidentally gains supernatural power from extraterrestrial substances, fighting against the evil forces that try to rule the world.

Lee Sang Yeob has been offered the male lead role of Oh Gyu Tae, a former prosecutor who is currently unemployed. His desperate life turns upside down as he comes to communicate with an unknown being.

Jung Eun Ji is in talks to play the female lead Yoo Ye Joo, a former instructor of the special forces counterterrorism unit who tries to save the world with Oh Gyu Tae.

The project will be the first drama by director Heo Jong Ho, who helmed the films “Countdown,” “The Advocate: A Missing Body,” and “Monstrum,” and writer Park Hee Gang of the drama “Possessed” will be in charge of scriptwriting. The broadcasting schedule is yet to be decided.
