NCT 127 Earns 3rd-Ever Million Circle Certification; SEVENTEEN's BSS, LE SSERAFIM, TXT, And More Go Double Platinum
Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming.
On April 6, Circle Chart announced its latest album certifications. Albums are certified platinum at 250,000 sales and certified million once they reach a million copies sold.
NCT 127 earned this month’s highest certification with their latest repackaged album “Ay-Yo” officially selling over a million copies. Notably, this album dropped only this past January and quickly sold over 955,632 copies in just its first week of release.
Several artists went double platinum this month, including SEVENTEEN’s BSS unit with their first single album “SECOND WIND” and Lee Chan Won with “ONE.” Both accomplishments are especially remarkable as these releases were only from this past February and mark both artists’ first Circle certifications.
Also scoring their second-ever double platinum Circle certifications were TREASURE with their October 2022 release “THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER TWO” and LE SSERAFIM with their debut mini album “FEARLESS.” TXT’s first studio album “The Dream Chapter: MAGIC” has also gone double platinum after surpassing 500,000 sales.
Three releases from within the past year were also newly certified platinum after selling over 250,000 copies, starting with THE BOYZ’s eighth mini album “BE AWAKE,” which dropped back in February.
STAYC’s February release “Teddy Bear” is now their third consecutive album to go platinum following “YOUNG-LUV.COM” and “WE NEED LOVE.”
Lastly, the Weverse version of SEVENTEEN’s fourth repackaged album “SECTOR 17” has been certified platinum after recording over 250,000 album sales.
Congratulations to all the artists!
