Kim Woo Bin Leads A Courageous Fight In Daunting Poster For Upcoming Sci-Fi Series "Black Knight"
Kim Woo Bin’s upcoming sci-fi series “Black Knight” has dropped a daunting new poster!
Based on a webtoon, Netflix’s “Black Knight” takes place in 2071 when pollution has become so severe that people can’t survive without respirators. The series follows the story that unfolds as legendary deliveryman 5-8 (Kim Woo Bin) meets refugee Sa Wol (Kang You Seok), who dreams of becoming a deliveryman because they are the refugees’ only hope. Together, they struggle against Cheonmyeong Group, an organization that is eager to rule the world with their vicious cruelty.
Song Seung Heon will take on the role of villain Ryu Seok, the only son of Cheonmyeong Group chairman Ryu Hae Jin, and Esom will be playing Seol Ah, a major of the military intelligence who looks after Sa Wol like family.
In the new poster, 5-8 and his fellow deliverymen step onto the scene as people who protect others in addition to delivering them oxygen and other everyday necessities. Unlike typical deliverymen, 5-8 wears a daunting all-black outfit and is followed by several other hooded, masked, and armed characters. The poster reads, “A world where oxygen is controlled. The only hope to destroy the world.”
Kim Woo Bin introduced the deliverymen in the upcoming series, saying, “During the day, they deliver packages in their respective regions, just like typical deliverymen. At night, they’re people who help refugees and think with them about what they can do to live well altogether.”
The director elaborated that these deliverymen are not like the ones we typically think of. They also explained that the series’ English title “Black Knight” refers to the name of an organization of specific deliverymen aiming to take down Cheonmyeong Group.
“Black Knight” will be released on May 12. Check out a teaser here!
