4 Reasons To Watch The Highly-Anticipated 3rd Season Of "Dr. Romantic"

“Dr. Romantic” is finally gearing up to return with the long-awaited third season!

SBS’s “Dr. Romantic” is a popular drama that follows the stories of realistic doctors working at a rundown hospital in the countryside. Han Suk Kyu, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Sung Kyung, Kim Min Jae, So Ju Yeon, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, Byun Woo Min, and Jung Ji Ahn will all be reprising their roles in the upcoming third season, alongside several new cast members.

Ahead of the drama’s premiere, “Dr. Romantic 3” shared four reasons to tune into the highly-anticipated new season!

The return of a heartwarming and relatable drama

“Dr. Romantic” has received much love from the public as a novel medical drama about dreams and ideals. These ideals of the eccentric genius Dr. Kim (Han Suk Kyu) have been called tacky and old-fashioned, but they actually bring about the humane stories that people have been yearning for.

Through the patients who visit Doldam Hospital and through the medical staff who save their lives, the drama asks viewers the question of what drives people to live, making “Dr. Romantic” a drama of a lifetime. The third installment of the series will once again fuel viewers with dreams and ideals, which are much-needed elements in this generation.

Doldam Doctors are back!

In addition to talented veteran actor Han Suk Kyu, who will once again touch viewers with his portrayal, the entire cast, which is the driving force behind the success of the series, will once again show phenomenal teamwork. Continuing from Season 2, there are GS Surgeon Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop), who is following in Dr. Kim’s footsteps, and CS Surgeon Cha Eun Jae (Lee Sung Kyung), who is an icon of growth.

Furthermore the drama boasts the return of the actors who play Doldam Hospital heroes including Kim Min Jae, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, Byun Woo Min, Kim Joo Heon, Yoon Na Moo, Shin Dong Wook, So Ju Yeon, Go Sang Ho, Bora, and Jung Ji Ahn. Director Yoo In Shik shared, “It was to the extent that there were moments where the actors seemed like real doctors,” raising anticipation for the cast’s performance.

The synergy of the production team

Behind Season 3, which the actors themselves have called a “miracle,” is the reliable production team, which marks the third collaboration between scriptwriter Kang Eun Kyung and director Yoo In Shik, who have been in charge of “Dr. Romantic” from Season 1. Scriptwriter Kang Eun Kyung captivated viewers through the drama’s warm messages, realistic episodes, and famous quotes which left strong impressions on the viewers’ hearts, while director Yoo In Shik created an immersive story with his exceptional directing.

A spectacular story that expands the story of Doldam Hospital

Season 3 depicts the story of Dr. Kim’s long-time wish to set up Doldam Hospital’s Trauma Center. With the new trauma center, the cases and scale of accidents that Doldam Hospital has to deal with expands. Amidst such a story, “Dr. Romantic” will continue to deliver touching stories as they show even more passion. Furthermore, the appearance of new characters will also captivate viewers including Dr. Kim’s past rival Cha Jin Man (Lee Kyung Young) and rookies Jang Dong Hwa (Lee Shin Young) and Lee Sun Woong (Lee Hong Nae). Furthermore, Seo Woo Jin and Cha Eun Jae as senior doctors will be another interesting point to look forward to as well as their romance as a couple who has been dating for three years. Similarly, Park Eun Tak (Kim Min Jae) and Yoon Ah Reum (So Ju Yeon) will also be sure to captivate viewers.

At the press conference for “Dr. Romantic 3,” Han Suk Kyu shared, “If a time I can’t act suddenly comes, I think I will think about ‘Dr. Romantic’ a lot. I participated in the ‘Dr. Romantic’ series for about one tenth of my life. I personally think that’s lucky.”
