3 Reasons To Get Excited For Tonight's Premiere Of "My Perfect Stranger"

KBS 2TV’s new time-travel drama “My Perfect Stranger” (previously known as “Run Into You”) kicks off tonight!

“My Perfect Stranger” is a fantasy drama about the strange events that unfold when a news anchor named Yoon Hae Joon (played by Kim Dong Wook), who wants to uncover the truth behind a serial murder case from the past, runs into Baek Yoon Young (Jin Ki Joo), who wants to prevent her parents’ wedding. After getting stuck in the year 1987, the two realize that their goals may be connected.

With the drama’s first episode airing tonight, here are three reasons to look forward to the long-awaited premiere:

1. The leads traveling back in time to 1987

After unexpectedly coming into possession of a time machine, Yoon Hae Joon accidentally crashes into Baek Yoon Young while using it—and as a result, the two wind up trapped in the year 1987 together.

However, both characters find themselves on an important mission in the past. Yoon Young, who had been struggling with her mother’s sudden death in present day before being transported back in time, runs into the teenage version of her mother (played by Seo Ji Hye) in 1987. In order to prevent her mother’s future death, Yoon Young decides to pretend to be a teenager and enrolls at her mom’s high school.

Meanwhile, Hae Joon—who is attempting to prevent his own death—gets a job at the same high school as a Korean teacher. Will the two time travelers be able to prevent tragedy from (re)occurring in the future?

2. The mysterious serial murder case in a quiet village

Hoping to stop a series of murders that take place in the village of Woojungri, Hae Joon and Yoon Young work together to investigate some suspicious characters.

Meanwhile, as Woojungri detective Dong Shik (played by Choi Young Woo) does his best to solve the case, he takes notice of two mysterious individuals who also seem to be investigating the crimes.

3. A unique blend of thrilling suspense and heartwarming emotion

“My Perfect Stranger” will mix the excitement of a murder mystery drama with touching and emotional moments stemming from the entangled relationships between its various characters.

While there is much warmth to be found in the 1987 village of Woojungri, there are also some shady individuals hidden amongst the villagers that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
