Lee Ki Woo Confirmed To Join Honey Lee And Lee Jong Won In New Historical Drama
Lee Ki Woo will be taking on a new sageuk (historical drama) challenge!
On May 9, Lee Ki Woo’s agency NeverDie Entertainment shared that the actor will be starring in the new MBC historical drama “Flower That Blooms at Night” (literal title).
“Flower That Blooms at Night” is a comedy investigative sageuk that depicts the double life of Jo Yeo Hwa (Honey Lee) who had lived as a widow for 15 years with two different faces. During the day, Jo Yeo Hwa lives a quiet and modest life as a virtuous woman who cannot see the world outside the fence, but at night she jumps over the fence and goes out into the world to take care of those in need without anyone knowing. The upcoming drama is the newest project by PD (producing director) Jang Tae Yoo of “My Love from the Star,” “Tree With Deep Roots,” and “Lovers of the Red Sky.”
Lee Ki Woo will take on the role of Park Yoon Hak, the King’s reliable advocate and a person who tries to protect his younger brother Park Soo Ho’s (Lee Jong Won’s) happy life. Born as the second son of the most prestigious family in the Joseon Dynasty, Park Yoon Hak grew up with King Lee So since the days he was a crown prince and understands the King’s agony and sorrow better than anyone else. Park Yoon Hak appears to be leisurely and soft on the outside, but he feels a sense of duty to change the world to a better place.
Previously in February, Lee Jong Won was also confirmed to star in the drama following Honey Lee’s casting news.
“Flower That Blooms at Night” is set to premiere in the second half of 2023. Stay tuned!
