LE SSERAFIM's "UNFORGIVEN" Achieves 3rd Highest 1st-Week Sales Of Any Girl Group Album In Hanteo History
Just one year after their debut, LE SSERAFIM is already the female artist with the third-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history!
Last week, LE SSERAFIM released the physical version of their first full-length album “UNFORGIVEN“—and by the end of May 2, it had already set a new record for (what was at the time) the highest first-day sales of any girl group album in Hanteo history after selling over 1 million copies in just one day. (That record was broken just yesterday, by aespa‘s new mini album “MY WORLD.”)
Hanteo Chart has now reported that “UNFORGIVEN” sold an impressive total of 1,258,001 copies in the first week of its release (May 2 to 8)—more than doubling LE SSERAFIM’s previous first-week sales record of 567,673 set by their second mini album “ANTIFRAGILE.”
With this achievement, LE SSERAFIM’s “UNFORGIVEN” has become the girl group album with the third-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history, bested only by BLACKPINK‘s “BORN PINK” and aespa’s “MY WORLD” (the latter of which is still in the first week of its release).
Including “UNFORGIVEN,” only five girl group albums have ever managed to sell over a million copies in their first week. The only other girl group albums to achieve the feat to date are aespa’s “Girls,” BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK,” IVE’s “I’ve IVE,” and, as of yesterday, aespa’s “MY WORLD.”
Notably, LE SSERAFIM now holds the record for the fastest girl group to achieve million-seller status with an album following their debut, having managed to reach the milestone barely one year after their debut on May 2, 2022.
