BLACKPINK’s Jennie Confirmed To Attend 76th Cannes Film Festival For “The Idol”
BLACKPINK’s Jennie will be attending the 76th Cannes Film Festival!
Earlier in April, the 76th Cannes Film Festival announced that “The Idol” had been invited for the Out of Competition category. At the time, BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment shared that Jennie was also invited to attend the event, but added that her participation was yet to be decided.
On May 11, YG Entertainment officially announced, “Jennie will attend the Cannes Film Festival on May 22.”
Created by The Weeknd and “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, “The Idol” is a new series about a pop singer named Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) who strikes up a romance with an enigmatic cult leader (The Weeknd). The series, which marks Jennie’s acting debut, is reported to premiere out of competition at the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
The 2023 Cannes Film Festival will take place on May 16 to 27.
