aespa Breaks Record For Highest 1st-Week Sales Of Any Female Artist In Hanteo History
aespa has made K-pop history with their new album!
Last week, aespa made their long-awaited comeback with the mini album “MY WORLD” on May 8—and by the end of the day, the mini album had already sold over 1.37 million copies, setting a new record for the highest first-day sales by any female artist in Hanteo history.
Hanteo Chart has now reported that in the first week of its release (May 8 to 14), “MY WORLD” went on to sell an impressive total of 1,698,784 copies.
With this achievement, aespa has broken BLACKPINK’s record for the highest first-week sales by any female artist in Hanteo history. (The previous record, set by BLACKPINK’s 2022 album “BORN PINK” last year, was 1,542,950.)
aespa has also become the only female artist in Hanteo history to have two albums sell over a million copies each in their first week. Before “MY WORLD,” their previous mini album “Girls” sold 1,126,068 copies in the first week of its release last year.
Even including male artists, aespa is now the artist with the fifth-highest first-week sales overall, bested only by SEVENTEEN, BTS, TXT, and Stray Kids.
Congratulations to aespa on their historic achievements!
