"Squid Game" Producers Respond To Reports Of Season 3 Being Filmed At Same Time As Season 2
Netflix has responded to reports of Season 2 and Season 3 of “Squid Game” being filmed at the same time.
With pre-production of the second season of the hit series already underway, there has been a great deal of speculation about a potential third season of the show.
On May 16, Korean news outlet OSEN reported that Netflix was moving forward with a third season—and that Seasons 2 and 3 would be filmed at the same time, with the two seasons consisting of 13 episodes in total.
In response to the report, Netflix commented, “In order to create a show that will bring the fans joy, the ‘Squid Game’ production team is giving their all to prepare for Season 2.”
As for whether Season 3 would be filmed together with Season 2, Netflix stated simply, “Because we are still in the early stages [of planning], the concrete details have not yet been decided.”
Meanwhile, “Squid Game 2” is currently scheduled to begin filming in July. Star Lee Jung Jae remarked at a fan meeting in Paris this past weekend, “‘Squid Game 2’ will begin filming soon.”
