FIFTY FIFTY has set a new record for K-pop girl groups on Spotify’s Daily Global chart!
On May 17, FIFTY FIFTY’s viral hit “Cupid (Twin Ver.)” rose one spot to No. 3 on Spotify’s Daily Global chart, reaching a new peak. This marked the 36th consecutive day since “Cupid (Twin Ver.)” first entered the top 10 of this chart, which is the longest run for a K-pop girl group.
“Cupid (Twin Ver.)” has also had a strong showing on several other Spotify charts, including taking the top spot on 15 Daily Viral Songs charts back in March. Early this month, the song’s viral sped up version also hit No. 1 on 12 different charts.
The song has especially seen exceptional success overseas, with it reaching No. 7 on Spotify’s U.S. Daily Top Songs chart with 960,000 streams and No. 16 on this chart in the United Kingdom with 180,000 streams. By May 7, FIFTY FIFTY had surpassed 30 million monthly Spotify listeners from around the world. Having done so in only 170 days after their debut, this marks a new record for K-pop groups.
This past week, “Cupid” tied the record for longest-charting K-pop girl group song on Billboard’s Hot 100 after rising to a new peak of No. 17. On the UK Official Singles Chart, FIFTY FIFTY broke their own record for highest charting K-pop girl group song when “Cupid” rose from No. 9 to No. 8.
