Kim Jae Wook Joins Jo Bo Ah And Lee Jae Wook In Talks For New Historical Romance Drama
Kim Jae Wook, Jo Bo Ah, and Lee Jae Wook may star in a new historical drama together!
On May 15, Star News reported that Kim Jae Wook will star in the new historical drama “Tangeum” (literal title).
In response to the reports, Kim Jae Wook’s agency Management SOOP clarified, “Kim Jae Wook has received an offer to star in the drama ‘Tangeum’ and is positively reviewing the offer.”
Based on the novel of the same name, “Tangeum” is a mystery romance drama about Jae Yi, the daughter born between danju (the owner of a merchants guild in the Joseon Dynasty) Shim Yeol Guk and a surrogate woman, and Hong Rang, Shim Yeol Guk’s son born through his wife. Previously in April, it was reported that Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah are in talks to star in the drama. Lee Jae Wook was reportedly offered the role of Hong Rang while Jo Bo Ah was offered to star as Jae Yi.
Director Kim Hong Seon, who helmed “Decoy: part 1” and “Decoy: part 2,” “The Guest,” “The Voice,” and “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area,” will be in charge of production.
Kim Jae Wook is reportedly in talks for the role of Prince Han Pyeong, who is the current King’s only brother. Prince Han Pyeong has no interest in politics or the affairs of the palace and is only excessively obsessed with art.
If confirmed, this will be Kim Jae Wook’s first historical drama in 15 years since “The Kingdom of the Winds.”
