HYBE To Launch New Girl Group Survival Show This Month
HYBE will be debuting a brand-new girl group through a survival program scheduled to kick off this month!
On June 1, JTBC and BELIFT LAB announced that they have begun filming for the new survival program “R U Next?”
“R U Next?” is a program that will determine the final lineup of BELIFT LAB’s next global girl group.
BELIFT LAB is a joint venture between CJ ENM and HYBE. After the establishment of BELIFT LAB, HYBE launched the survival reality show “I-LAND” in June 2020. The show aired via Mnet and brought forth the seven-member boy group ENHYPEN.
However, regarding the new survival show, HYBE and JTBC shared, “‘R U Next?’ is a separate project that will be completely different from ‘I-LAND.'”
The production team remarked, “The competition will consist of a total of seven rounds [to evaluate contestants based on their] potential, expressiveness, ability to ace various genres, professionalism, individuality, creativity, and star quality. Although fierce competition is inevitable, we will focus on the stories and relationships between the trainees and deliver a healthy program. Please look forward to finding out how HYBE’s next girl group is created.”
“R U Next?” will premiere on JTBC and Abema TV in Japan on June 30 at 8:50 p.m. KST for a total of 10 episodes. Stay tuned for updates!
