Go Ah Sung And Jang Ryul Confirmed To Star In New Historical Drama

Go Ah Sung and Jang Ryul will be starring in a new drama!

On June 2, TVING announced that Go Ah Sung and Jang Ryul are confirmed to star in the new series “The Love Story of Chunhwa” (working title).

“The Love Story of Chunhwa” is a romance historical drama that follows the story of a princess who sets out to find a husband for herself instead of marrying the one chosen by her father, the king. The drama also shows the search for the person who drew the princess as the star of a chunhwa (erotic pantings from an earlier period).

Go Ah Sung, who impressed through various projects including the “Tracer” series and “Life on Mars,” will take on the role of Hwa Ri, the youngest princess in the royal family who grew up in a free-spirited way and leads an independent life.

Jang Ryul, who received great attention by playing the lead role in “Bargain” that won Best Screenplay at this year’s Cannes International Series Festival, will play the role of Choi Hwan, the richest merchant in the country and the first husband candidate for Princess Hwa Ri. Choi Hwan appears to be shallow and likes money and women, but he is hiding a secret of his own.

“The Love Story of Chunhwa” will be produced by Beyond J, the production company behind dramas such as “Nevertheless,” “The Killer’s Shopping List,” “Recipe for Farewell,” and “Somebody,” and is set to be released in 2024.
