TWICE Makes History As 1st K-Pop Girl Group Ever To Sell 1 Million Albums In U.S.
TWICE has achieved a historic first in the United States!
This month, TWICE officially became the first female K-pop artist in history to sell a million pure albums (physical and digital combined) in the United States.
Not only is TWICE the first K-pop girl group to hit the 1 million mark stateside, but they are only the fourth K-pop artist ever to do so. The only other Korean acts to sell a million pure albums in the United States to date are BTS, TXT, and Stray Kids (who just reached the milestone this week as well).
Earlier this year, TWICE also made K-pop history by achieving the biggest U.S. sales week of any female K-pop artist to date with their latest mini album “READY TO BE,” which went on to become their longest-charting album yet on the Billboard 200.
Additionally, TWICE will be making history on the upcoming North American leg of their “READY TO BE” world tour as well—and not just among K-pop artists. TWICE is notably the first female group (from any country) to sell out MetLife Stadium and SoFi Stadium in the United States.
Meanwhile, after touring North America in June and July, TWICE will be embarking on their first tour of Europe this coming September.
Congratulations to TWICE on their historic achievement!
