Having recently premiered on June 21, “Snow Eagle Lord” has already captivated viewers with its stunning visuals and captivating lore. Below are four reasons to check out the new C-drama!
1. The brave and noble Dong Bo Xue Ying
Xu Kai of numerous hit works including “The Legends,” “Arsenal Military Academy,” “Ancient Love Poetry,” and “Falling Into Your Smile” transforms into the leading role of Dong Bo Xue Ying, who eventually comes to be known as the titular “Snow Eagle Lord.”
With a loving and supportive family while growing up, Dong Bo Xue Ying is taught to be noble and strong yet also gentle and kindhearted. Even as a young child, he bravely steps up to protect his family from an unexpected attack by his uncle Moyang Chen (Geng Le). With his parents fighting a losing battle, Do Bo Xue Ying courageously steps up and somehow musters the courage to pull the Star Breaking Crossbow, which guards over Xueying Ridge and takes more than just ordinary strength to use. 10 years later, Dong Bo Xue Ying is still diligently training—now having become a master at wielding a spear—to one day get revenge and save his mother.
2. The skilled and elegant Yu Jing Qiu
Gülnezer Bextiyar of “Weaving a Tale of Love,” “Return the World to You,” “The Dance of the Storm,” and “12 Legend” transforms into the breathtaking and talented Yu Jing Qiu.
Kicking off the finale of the first episode, Yu Jing Qiu makes a grand entrance, taking down those associated with the demons and saving Dong Bo Xue Ying with impressive spiritual power and grace. Although she comes off as slightly cold at first due to her straightforward and logical nature, it’s evident that she only means well and is actually very caring and thoughtful.
Do Bo Xue Ying is clearly impressed by her strength, and Yu Jing Qiu soon reciprocates, intrigued by how Do Bo Xue Ying has managed to come so far in honing his fighting skills despite his lack of battle energy. Even from the start, the soft smiles they send to each other raise anticipation for their swoon-worthy chemistry on screen.
3. In-depth lore with eye-catching action scenes
Right off the bat, “Snow Eagle Lord” captivates with its impressive fantasy lore and extensive world building. The show gets quite flashy when it comes to depicting the magical and fantasy elements of the drama, putting on a spectacular display of lights and graceful action sequences. From the first episode, viewers can get a taste of the captivating action scene as Dong Bo Xue Ying dances on the screen with his mythical spear in battle.
The intriguing and extensive lore on top of the use of various types of magic including Yu Jing Qiu’s frost spells and Chi Quibai’s space rift spells as well as the magical storage treasure given to Dong Bo Xiue Ying by his mother really make “Snow Eagle Lord” a drama that fans of the fantasy genre would love.
4. Breathtaking backdrop
With the constant yet soft flurry of snow in Dong Bo Xue Ying’s hometown of the Snow Eagle Territory, the vast white lands, frost covered trees, and snow capped mountains in the background create for a breathtaking view. The constant snow fluttering in the background and the snow-covered terrain enhance the beauty of each action scene, creating a unique and epic backdrop for the fantasy story to unfold.
