Circle Chart Reveals Midyear Digital And Album Charts For 1st Half Of 2023
Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has published its midyear charts for the first half of 2023!
As the midyear chart results are based on accumulated weekly data since the beginning of January 2023, albums and songs released earlier in the year have more weekly points included in their scores.
Digital Chart
NewJeans and IVE absolutely dominated the midyear digital chart: NewJeans claimed a whopping four out of the top 10 spots, while IVE took three out of the top 10 and four out of the top 11.
NewJeans swept the top three spots with “Ditto,” “OMG,” and “Hype Boy,” which ranked No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 respectively for the first half of 2023.
Younha’s viral hit “Event Horizon” charted at No. 4, and IVE’s latest hit “I AM” rounded out the top five for the first half of the year.

Album Chart
SEVENTEEN topped the midyear album chart with their latest mini album “FML,” which recently became the first album in K-pop history to sell over 6 million copies. Stray Kids’ “★★★★★ (5-STAR)” came in at No. 2, TXT’s “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” at No. 3, aespa’s “MY WORLD” at No. 4, and TWICE’s “READY TO BE” at No. 5.
Notably, both SEVENTEEN’s “FML” and TXT’s “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” claimed multiple spots on the midyear chart, as the Weverse versions of their albums charted separately. In addition to the regular version of the album ranking No. 1, “FML” also took No. 21 and No. 46 on the chart with its Weverse and KiT versions. Meanwhile, “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” took No. 3 on the chart with its regular version and No. 29 with its Weverse version.
