'Squid Game 2' Apologizes For Controversy Over Airport Shoot

The producers of Netflix’s “Squid Game 2” have apologized following a controversy over the drama’s recent shoot at Incheon International Airport.

On July 11, an anonymous individual posted on an online community complaining about their interaction with a “Squid Game 2” staff member the day before. The individual wrote that while the show was filming at Incheon International Airport, a staff member had blocked people from using a public escalator—and that they had done so rudely.

The individual elaborated that instead of explaining the situation or politely asking people to use the elevator instead, the staff member had irritably ordered them in a commanding tone, “Go back.”

Amidst growing controversy over the post, the producers of “Squid Game 2” apologized for the incident later that day.

“We saw the post about a citizen experiencing discomfort during filming for Season 2 of ‘Squid Game’ at Incheon International Airport on July 10,” they said. “While we tried our best to inform citizens in detail about the on-site situation during the shoot, we apologize for the fact that we made people uncomfortable.”

“We sincerely thank the citizens who understood [our situation during] the shoot, and we will be even more careful during filming in the future,” they continued.
