Park Hae Jin, Lim Ji Yeon, And Park Sung Woong Have A Complex Relationship In "The Killing Vote"
SBS’s upcoming drama “The Killing Vote” has shared new stills of Park Hae Jin, Lim Ji Yeon, and Park Sung Woong!
Based on the popular Kakao webtoon of the same name, “The Killing Vote” asks the question “What is your idea of justice?” and delves into the concept of a nationwide death penalty vote against vicious criminals who deftly manage to escape the law’s blind spots. The drama highlights the story of a mysterious figure known as “Dog Mask,” who executes the death penalty depending on the results of the vote, and the police who are pursuing him.
Park Hae Jin plays Kim Moo Chan, the head of Team 1 of the regional investigation unit at the Southern Provincial Police Agency. He is the youngest man to become the team leader of a regional investigation unit in the shortest period of time, and he is eager to make any interesting case his.
Lim Ji Yeon plays the role of Joo Hyun, a fifth-year lieutenant at the Cyber Security Bureau of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. Joo Hyun was once the ace of the Cyber Investigation Team after being specially hired, but now she has become known by everyone to be a nuisance who is always under fire.
Park Sung Woong stars as Kwon Suk Joo, a long-term prison inmate who turned himself in after personally killing the culprit who sexually assaulted his eight-year-old daughter. He was once Korea’s most famous legal expert, and he is still respected as a teacher-like figure and referred to as “Professor” within the prison.
In the drama, there is a complex relationship between Kim Moo Chan, Joo Hyun, and Kwon Suk Joo. Despite their completely different personalities and investigation styles, police officers Kim Moo Chan and Joo Hyun team up with a common goal of tracking down the mysterious “Dog Mask,” who is behind the sudden start of a national death penalty vote.
When Kwon Suk Joo is thrust into the spotlight as a result of the new national death penalty vote, Kim Moo Chan, Kwon Suk Joo, and Joo Hyun are thrown into a situation where they can neither fully trust each other nor fully doubt each other.
The production team of “The Killing Vote” commented, “The relationship between the three main characters in the drama will constantly change depending on the situation, which will increase the tension of the story. This requires not only strong individual performances and capabilities from the actors, but also strong chemistry between them as they go back and forth between supporting each other, suspecting each other, and facing off against each other.”
They added, “We believe the combination of Park Hae Jin, Park Sung Woong, and Lim Ji Yeon, three ‘trusted’ actors, couldn’t be better. The chemistry between the three actors on set was incredible. Please give [their performances] lots of interest and anticipation.”
“The Killing Vote” premieres on August 10 at 9 p.m. KST.
