NewJeans' "Get Up" Achieves 2nd Highest 1st-Day Sales Of Any Girl Group Album In History With Over 1.1 Million Copies Sold
NewJeans’ latest comeback is off to an exciting start!
On July 21 at 1 p.m. KST, NewJeans made their highly-anticipated return with their new mini album “Get Up” and the music video for their second title track “ETA.”
According to Hanteo Chart, “Get Up” sold a staggering total of 1,194,623 copies on its first day of sales alone—smashing not only NewJeans’ previous first-day sales record of 481,425, but also their previous first-week sales record of 701,241 (both set by their single album “OMG” earlier this year) within just one day.
“Get Up” now holds the record for the second-highest first-day sales of any girl group album in Hanteo history, bested only by aespa‘s “MY WORLD.”
To date, only three other girl group albums have ever managed to sell over 1 million copies on their first day of sales: aespa’s “MY WORLD,” LE SSERAFIM’s “UNFORGIVEN,” and BLACKPINK‘s “BORN PINK.”
Congratulations to NewJeans on their amazing achievement!
