Kim Hyang Gi, Shin Hyun Seung, And More Confirmed To Star In New Romance Drama
Kim Hyang Gi, Shin Hyun Seung, and more have been confirmed for a new romance drama!
Based on a popular webtoon, Playlist Studio and Hulu Japan’s original drama “Secret Playlist” (working title) depicts the secret romance between an idol and a YouTuber. The story develops based on a messenger app and draws out unique episodes of the MZ generation.
Kim Hyang Gi will take on the role of Song Han Ju, a female university student who maturely accepts her difficult reality but does not let go of her dream. Han Ju secretly works as a music YouTuber named PLII, but when a popular idol member starts to follow her account, Han Ju’s ordinary life takes a new turn.
Shin Hyun Seung will play Lee Do Guk, a member of the popular idol group SEZ under the stage name Levi. Ahead of his solo debut, Do Guk wants to collaborate with PLII, who runs a music YouTube channel that he enjoys listening to, and in order to make the collaboration happen, he strives to reveal the true identity of PLII.
Yeon Oh will play Lee Mak Chun, who forms a love triangle with Han Ju and Do Guk. Kang Sung Yun and Yang Dong Geun will play Han Ju’s mother and father, respectively.
Kim Hyang Gi showcased her outstanding acting skills through various dramas including “Moment of Eighteen” and the “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” series as well as the films “Hansan: Rising Dragon” and the “Along With the Gods” series.
Shin Hyun Seung is a rising star who debuted through a rookie actor audition held by Kakao Entertainment in 2020. He starred in dramas including “Be My Boyfriend,” “Pumpkin Time,”, “Sh**ting Stars,” and “So Not Worth It.”
“Secret Playlist” is scheduled to premiere in the winter of 2023. Stay tuned!
