Watch: Lee Joon Gi, Shin Se Kyung, And More Are Shrouded In Turmoil In 'Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword Of Aramun' Teaser

tvN’s upcoming weekend drama “Arthdal Chronicles” is gearing up to return with Season 2!

“Arthdal Chronicles” is an epic fantasy drama about the mythical ancient land of Arth. Four years after the end of the first season, the series will be returning for its second season—entitled “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun”—this September.

“Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun” is set approximately a decade after Season 1, with Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung joining the cast as older versions of the original leads. Lee Joon Gi will be taking over the dual roles of twins Eun Seom and Sa Ya (which were played by Song Joong Ki in Season 1), while Shin Se Kyung will be taking over the role of Tan Ya (originally played by Kim Ji Won).

The newly released legacy teaser highlights Arthdal city, and at the center of the city is a statue of Aramun Haesulla, the founder of Arthdal, riding the legendary horse Kanmoreu. The statue also wields a blade that releases black smoke and shines brightly, seeming to leave everything in its wake in ruins.

On the surface of the double-edged blade, reflections of Ta Gon (Jang Dong Gun), Eun Seom, Tan Ya, and Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Bin) flash by, and a mysterious person raises the blade high up into the sky, causing lightning from the storm clouds to pass down the blade. The teaser depicts a figure breathing heavily and the blade struck between the crevices of an old tree as the text, “Who will take over Arthdal?” flashes by.

“Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun” is slated to premiere September 9 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
