Girl's Day's Yura Is SF9's Rowoon's Jealous Girlfriend In 'Destined With You'

Girl’s Day’s Yura has shared her thoughts on her upcoming drama “Destined with You”!

“Destined with You” is a new JTBC romance drama starring SF9’s Rowoon as Jang Shin Yu, a lawyer bound by a centuries-old curse, and Jo Bo Ah as Lee Hong Jo, a civil servant who holds the key to Jang Shin Yu’s freedom in the form of a banned book that was sealed 300 years ago.

Yura will be playing the role of Jang Shin Yu’s girlfriend Yoon Na Yeon, an interior designer who is genuinely in love with her boyfriend. However, Yoon Na Yeon is hiding a big secret from Jang Shin Yu: unbeknownst to him, she has bad history with Lee Hong Jo, whom she used to bully.

While waiting for Jang Shin Yu to propose, Yoon Na Yeon notices that her boyfriend seems to be taking a special interest in Lee Hong Jo—and as a result, her original nature that she has made great efforts to suppress is reawakened.

In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Yoon Na Yeon looks stylish and confident as a career woman who is passionate about her work. But when she is alone with her boyfriend Jang Shin Yu, there is a strange tension between them: Jang Shin Yu looks somewhat sad, while Yoon Na Yeon gazes back at him with a cold expression.

Describing why she decided to appear in “Destined with You,” Yura recalled, “I felt that the story was really new and refreshing, and the more I read it, the more fun it got, and the more it made my heart flutter. I was drawn to the character of Na Yeon, who has many different sides; I found that appealing.”

“Na Yeon is a character with strong desires,” she continued. “Because she cares a lot about what other people think of her, she wears many different masks, and she is constantly making an effort. I tried hard to portray the wide array of emotions that Na Yeon feels.”

Yura went on, “Each of the four main characters has different charms. I think one of the appealing things about the drama is the entertaining dialogue and the bickering chemistry between the polar-opposite characters. The atmosphere on set was also so wonderful that I can’t put into words how happy I was during filming. Our teamwork as we tossed lines back and forth was so great that I had a lot of fun shooting the drama.”

“Destined with You” will premiere on August 23 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
