On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the identity of “Sunscreen” was revealed!

During the September 3 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, four contestants advanced to the next round in their quest to challenge the reigning champion.

In the second battle of Round 2, Sunscreen wowed the crowd with an emotional cover of EXO’s Chen’s solo debut track “Beautiful Goodbye.”

Afterwards, Sunscreen gave the audience a hint to his identity by performing a sun-themed dance cover medley (to match his mask). The masked singer danced to Zico’s “Summer Hate,” SEVENTEEN’s “HOT,” and TVXQ’s “Rising Sun.”

Although Sunscreen impressed the panelists with his singing, he ultimately lost the round to his opponent.

After his opponent left the stage, he remained behind to take off his mask and reveal that he was GHOST9’s main vocalist Choi Junseong.

When asked how he felt about his appearance on “The King of Mask Singer,” Choi Junseong confessed that he had felt nervous about being the first member of GHOST9 to appear on the show. “However, I think it was a great opportunity,” he continued, “and I’m honored to have been able to perform two songs today.”

As Choi Junseong was formerly a contestant on Mnet’s “Produce X 101” and also recently competed on JTBC’s “Peak Time,” host Kim Sung Joo asked him if he had developed any know-how for appearing on survival shows. “I really came to realize that you need to do your best to showcase yourself, and you need to be ambitious,” replied the idol.

Finally, Choi Junseong shared that he hoped to appear on more music programs and have more opportunities to sing in the future.
