SM Entertainment Artists Join Weverse + Launch Date Confirmed
Weverse is soon launching their services for SM Entertainment artists!
On September 5, Weverse officially announced that 13 SM artists—Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, aespa, and RIIZE—will join the platform.
Weverse is a platform that provides community services for artists and fans around the world to communicate. The official fan community for SM artists will open on September 12 at 2 p.m. KST.
Choi Joon Won, the CEO of Weverse Company, shared, “We welcome SM artists, who are loved around the world, and their loving fans, to join Weverse. We hope fans will enjoy a more expanded fan experience through Weverse. With the addition of SM artists, Weverse, which is growing rapidly exceeding 100 million downloads and 10 million MAU (monthly active users), will further accelerate its global expansion.”
After withdrawing from the acquisition of SM, HYBE agreed to collaborate with SM in the platform sector. At that time, HYBE stated, “The two companies have reached a grand agreement,” but did not disclose the exact details of their platform collaboration. Previously in April, SM Entertainment confirmed plans to have their artists join Weverse by the second half of this year.
