Watch: Ji Chang Wook and Im Se Mi Are Entangled With Mob Boss Wi Ha Joon In Upcoming Drama "The Worst Of Evil"
Upcoming drama “The Worst of Evil” has released a trailer and a brand-new poster!
Set in the 1990s, “The Worst of Evil” is a crime-action drama about an investigation launched to take down a major cartel based in Gangnam that is responsible for illegal drug trade between Korea, Japan, and China.
Ji Chang Wook will star in the upcoming series as Park Joon Mo, a detective who undertakes the dangerous mission of going undercover to infiltrate the Gangnam Alliance and earn the trust of mob boss Jung Ki Chul, played by Wi Ha Joon. Jung Ki Chul, the ruthless leader of the Gangnam Alliance, will stop at nothing to achieve success. Their paths collide on the frontlines of a high-stakes operation, setting the stage for a heated showdown.
Starring alongside Ji Chang Wook and Wi Ha Joon is Im Se Mi in the role of Yoo Eui Jung, an elite narcotics officer who is both Park Joon Mo’s wife and Jung Ki Chul’s first love. Meanwhile, BIBI will star as Hae Ryun, who plays a vital role in a Chinese drug factory’s distribution.
The newly released poster captures Park Joon Mo and Jung Ki Chul with different expressions. Joon Mo, a detective who risks everything for a dangerous mission, stares off into the distance as if he’s just been in a fierce battle, piquing viewers’ curiosity about the situation that has befallen him.
Meanwhile, Jung Ki Chul, whose drive to succeed eventually makes him the leader of the criminal organization Gangnam Alliance, is captured with a charismatic expression. The bottom of the poster depicts an intense confrontation between a group of people in a narrow hallway, adding to the anticipation for the drama.
The accompanying trailer begins with Joon Mo accepting an offer he can’t refuse and diving into a dangerous mission. In one scene, Joon Mo enters a crisis situation to gain the trust of Gangnam Alliance boss Ki Chul. After all the fighting and bloodshed, Jun Mo seemingly gains favor with Ki Chul, leaving viewers wondering what will happen next.
In another scene, elite police officer Yoo Eui Jung takes matters into her own hands. Hinting that she will further compound the chaos, she says, “I’d be happy to meet with Ki Chul and play mind games with him, if that will make this crazy investigation end quickly.”
The trailer also shows Hae Ryun, a key distributor for a large cartel. Hae Ryun, who goes through an unusual change of feelings for Joon Mo, will add to the intrigue by shaking up all the relationships between the characters.
In another scene, Joon Mo whispers to himself, “I can go back, I can go back,” piquing viewers’ curiosity about the storm of emotions and confusion he will go through, as well as what choices he’ll have to make.
