Go Ah Sung Steps Down From Drama Due To Injury + Go Ara Takes Over Role
Go Ara will be taking over Go Ah Sung’s role in the upcoming TVING drama “The Love Story of Chunhwa” (working title).
On September 12, Sports DongA reported that Go Ah Sung unfortunately decided to step down from her leading role due to an injury and that Go Ara will be taking over the role. Previously, Go Ah Sung personally shared that she was hospitalized for a fractured sacrum (bone between the hipbones) and was told it would take approximately 12 weeks to heal.
In response to the reports, a source from Go Ara’s agency King Kong By Starship shared, “Go Ara is confirmed to star in ‘The Love Story of Chunhwa.’ She recently received the script and she is preparing for filming.”
“The Love Story of Chunhwa” is a romance historical drama that follows the story of a princess who sets out to find a husband for herself instead of marrying the one chosen by her father, the king. The drama also shows the search for the person who drew the princess as the subject of a chunhwa (erotic paintings from an earlier period). In June, it was reported that Go Ah Sung and Jang Ryul would be leading the drama.
Go Ah Sung was originally confirmed for the role of Princess Hwa Ri, a princess who belongs to the lineage of the King’s lawful wife and dates freely before she declares that she will find her own husband. Go Ara will now be taking over the role as Princess Hwa Ri.
Earlier in August, “The Love Story of Chunhwa” further confirmed that SF9’s Chani, Son Woo Hyun, KARA’s Han Seung Yeon, Park Won Sang, and Park Sun Young will be joining the cast lineup in addition to the leads.
“The Love Story of Chunhwa” is reported to air in 2024.
Wishing Go Ah Sung a speedy and full recovery. Stay tuned for more updates on the drama!
