BTS's V Becomes 1st Solo Double-Million Seller In Hanteo History With "Layover"
BTS’s V has set an impressive new record with his solo debut album!
Last week, V made his official solo debut with his first album “Layover” on September 8. By the end of the day, “Layover” had already sold over 1.67 million copies, breaking the record for the highest first-week sales of any solo album in Hanteo history within just one day. (The previous record belonged to V’s bandmate Jimin, whose own solo debut album “FACE” sold 1,454,223 copies in its first week earlier this year.)
Hanteo Chart has now reported that “Layover” went on to sell a staggering total of 2,101,974 copies in the first week of its release (September 8 to 14), setting a new record for the highest first-week sales of any solo album in Hanteo history.
With this achievement, V has become the first solo artist in Hanteo history to sell over 2 million copies of an album in one week.
Even including groups, V is now the artist with the sixth-highest first-week sales overall, following Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN, NCT DREAM, his own group BTS, and TXT.
Congratulations to V on his historic achievement!
