Choi Hyun Wook Runs Away From His Strict Grandmother As If His Life Depends On It In 'Twinkling Watermelon'

tvN’s “Twinkling Watermelon” has unveiled new stills ahead of its premiere!

“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music accidentally travels back in time to 1995 through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with other mysterious youths.

Ryeoun will star in the drama as Eun Gyeol, the only person who can hear in his family, who leads a double life as the perfect model student by day and a band guitarist by night. Choi Hyun Wook will take on the role of the passionate Lee Chan, who is full of Generation X vibes. Seol In Ah will transform into Seowon Arts High School’s cello goddess Se Kyung, while Shin Eun Soo will play the cold and haughty “ice princess” Chung Ah, who has been deaf since birth.

The upcoming premiere episode will depict the first meeting between Lee Chan and his first love Se Kyung. After coincidentally meeting Se Kyung, Lee Chan feels butterflies like he has never felt before. Although Lee Chan passionately tries to woo Se Kyung’s heart, she remains indifferent and uninterested in his advances.

To make matters worse, Lee Chan’s grandmother Go Yang Hee (Go Doo Shim) appears to chastise him, making Lee Chan have to run away in front of Se Kyung. In the stills, Go Yang Hee scolds Lee Chan with a wooden stick while Lee Chan takes a defensive stance with a fearful expression.

A chase scene unfolds in the middle of the city as Lee Chan attempts to run away from Go Yang Hee, making viewers curious to see if Lee Chan will still be able to pursue his romance with Se Kyung.

“Twinkling Watermelon” premieres on September 25 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will be available to watch on Viki!
