Just a day before the premiere of Part 2, “My Dearest” has shared new stills featuring Ahn Eun Jin!
Set in the Joseon dynasty, “My Dearest” is a historical romance drama about the love story between a man named Lee Jang Hyun (Namgoong Min), who has declared that he will not marry, and a woman named Yoo Gil Chae (Ahn Eun Jin), who dreams of finding love again even after two failed marriages.
Spoilers
The recently unveiled stills offer a glimpse into the forthcoming trials that Yoo Gil Chae will face. In the picture, Yoo Gil Chae is seen walking alongside the people of Joseon, accompanied by her handmaiden Jong Jong (Park Jung Yeon). Her hands are tightly bound with a rope, her attire shows signs of wear and tear, and the haggard-looking appearance of those accompanying them all hint at the precarious predicament Yoo Gil Chae finds herself in.
In Part 1 of the drama, Yoo Gil Chae, a noblewoman, displayed remarkable resilience and unwavering determination as she endured the hardships of the Second Manchu War. Even when Lee Jang Hyun asked her to depart with him, she opted to stay behind to protect her family and loved ones. The released stills raise questions about why this strong-willed individual is being forcibly taken somewhere, by whom, and what daunting challenges lie ahead for Yoo Gil Chae.
Further intensifying the intrigue is Ahn Eun Jin’s portrayal of Yoo Gil Chae. Despite the gathering tears in her eyes, Yoo Gil Chae’s unwavering gaze reflects an unyielding determination, effectively capturing her strength and tenacity, even in the face of adversity.
The production team commented, “Part 2 is finally premiering tomorrow [October 13]. Right from the first episode of Part 2, Yoo Gil Chae will face a series of unimaginable trials and crises. This will shed light on the hardships endured by the people after the Second Manchu War. Additionally, this crisis will mark a turning point for Yoo Gil Chae, leading to her tearful reunion with Lee Jang Hyun. We kindly request your continued interest and high expectations for the whirlwind that awaits in Part 2, surpassing the intensity of Part 1.”
Episodes 11 and 12 of “My Dearest” will be extended to 90 minutes. As a result, Episodes 11 and 12 will air on October 13 (Friday) and 14 (Saturday) at 9:40 p.m. KST, 10 minutes earlier than the drama’s original time slot. “My Dearest” Part 2 will be available on Viki. Watch a teaser here!
