TXT Makes Oricon History As 1st Foreign Artist To Top Weekly Album Chart With 9 Consecutive Albums

TXT continues their unprecedented streak on Japan’s Oricon charts!

On October 17, Oricon officially announced that TXT’s new album “The Name Chapter: FREEFALL” had debuted at No. 1 on its latest weekly album chart, despite having been released just four days prior—meaning that the album managed to top the chart even without a full tracking week of sales.

According to Oricon, TXT is the only artist to have topped its weekly chart with three different albums in 2023. Before “The Name Chapter: FREEFALL,” TXT previously entered the weekly album chart at No. 1 with their Korean mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” and their Japanese album “SWEET” earlier this year.

Additionally, TXT has become the first foreign artist in history to top Oricon’s weekly album chart with nine consecutive albums, extending a record-breaking streak of No. 1 albums that began in 2020. To date, no other foreign artist from any country has topped the chart with more than six consecutive albums.

Meanwhile, “The Name Chapter: FREEFALL” has already sold over 2 million copies according to Hanteo Chart data.

Congratulations to TXT on their historic achievement!
