Park Eun Bin Dishes On Why She Chose To Star In “Castaway Diva,” Winning The Grand Prize At Baeksang Arts Awards, And More
Actress Park Eun Bin has talked about her character in the upcoming drama “Castaway Diva” in her recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar Korea!
“Castaway Diva” is a new romantic comedy starring Park Eun Bin as Seo Mok Ha, an aspiring singer who gets stranded on a deserted island while traveling to Seoul for an audition. The drama marks the reunion of director Oh Choong Hwan and writer Park Hye Ryun, who previously worked together on “While You Were Sleeping” and “Start-Up.”
On why she chose to play the role of Seo Mok Ha in “Castaway Diva,” Park Eun Bin revealed, “While filming ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo,’ I had a lot of time to reflect on myself. It was actually a very lonely time for me. But when I read the script for ‘Castaway Diva,’ I felt like character Seo Mok Ha would be able to overcome the difficulties of the human being Park Eun Bin. I received a lot of good offers back then, but the main reason I chose ‘Castaway Diva’ was because I wanted to gain Seo Mok Ha’s strength.”
When asked about a dramatic moment in her life, such as the moment Seo Mok Ha, an aspiring singer who had been stranded on a deserted island for 15 years, stands on stage, she responded, “I think it was probably winning the Grand Prize at this year’s Baeksang Arts Awards. I didn’t expect it at all, so it felt like a very long time before I was able to give my speech. At that time, the thought that crossed my mind was, ‘I dreamed of a day like this.’”
She continued, “I have never acted with the goal of winning an award, but ever since I was young, I vaguely hoped to become an adult worthy of receiving the Grand Prize, but that day, those thoughts that even I had forgotten came to mind.”
