Lee Jung Ha Dishes On The Most Challenging Part Of Playing His Character In "Moving," Filming Action Scenes, And More
Dazed Korea has released a pictorial featuring “Moving” star Lee Jung Ha!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Moving” is a superhero action drama about teenagers with hidden superhuman powers and their parents who, unbeknownst to them, harbor a painful secret from their past. They eventually team up to battle powerful dark forces that threaten multiple generations across different eras. Lee Jung Ha plays Kim Bong Seok, a student who has the supernatural ability to fly.
In the interview that followed the photo shoot, Lee Jung Ha was asked about the most challenging part of playing the role of Kim Bong Seok and the effort it took to synchronize with the original webtoon character. He shared, “I think Bong Seok is divided into before and after his awakening. Before he met Hee Soo (Go Yoon Jung), he was a good son who listened to his mother, but after he met Hee Soo, he started to let out the things he had been holding back. He transformed from just being a kind person who empathizes with others to someone who takes initiative in protecting the ones he loves. I focused a lot on portraying that aspect,” adding, “The wirework was the biggest challenge for me.”
Talking about his experience using wirework for his action scenes, he revealed, “Honestly, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard, but I have more memories of it being fun. I worked really hard at pilates and dance to get good at wirework, and during filming, the wirework scenes came out great, so I was really proud.”
On how satisfied he is with his job as an actor, Lee Jung Ha shared, “What’s really interesting is that my satisfaction with my job keeps increasing with each new project. I’m still amazed when I see myself in dramas. I feel even more satisfied when people tell me that they enjoyed my work.”
Regarding what he is currently obsessed with, he shared, “I love old songs from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. I also love indie music. Recently, I was watching ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ starring Park Eun Bin, and they kept showing gimbap. After a while, I found a song by The Jadu called ‘Gimbap’ and listened to it. I could relate to the song’s lyrics, ‘As the world changes, gimbap changes, and our love changes,’ so I’m really into the song right now.”
Lee Jung Ha’s full interview and pictorial will be available in the November issue of Dazed Korea.
