3 Romantic Relationships To Look Forward To In "Welcome To Samdalri"
Get ready for three sisters to find romance in tvN’s upcoming drama “Welcome to Samdalri”!
Helmed by “When the Camellia Blooms” director Cha Young Hoon, “Welcome to Samdalri” will star Ji Chang Wook as Jo Yong Pil, a man who has faithfully stayed in his hometown on Jeju Island all his life in order to protect its residents. Shin Hye Sun will play Jo Sam Dal, who grew up together with Jo Yong Pil as his close childhood friend. Unlike Jo Yong Pil, who was content to remain in his hometown, Jo Sam Dal made it her mission to get out of their small town and move to Seoul.
Shin Dong Mi will play the role of Jo Sam Dal’s older sister Jo Jin Dal, and Kang Mina will play her younger sister Jo Hae Dal.
The famous three sisters of Samdalri—Jo Jin Dal, Jo Sam Dal, and Jo Hae Dal—who are each known as the strong one, the crazy one, and the cheeky one respectively, have distinct characters and completely different personalities, as well as different dating styles.
Ahead of the drama’s premiere, “Welcome to Samdalri” has heightened viewers’ anticipation by revealing that the romantic relationships of the three sisters will be another highlight of the drama.
Here are the three romantic relationships viewers should look forward to in “Welcome to Samdalri”:
“The Crazy One,” Jo Sam Dal
Jo Sam Dal, the second eldest of the three sisters, has known her childhood friend Yong Pil for 30 years. At one point during their friendship, the two became romantically involved with each other, but they eventually broke up and lost contact with one another. Eight years later, they reunite when Sam Dal returns to her hometown.
Nicknamed “the crazy one” because of her short-tempered personality, Sam Dal makes a fuss every time she faces a situation that is not in her favor. Due to this personality of hers, her friendship with Yong Pil is full of ups and downs. However, Sam Dal is surprisingly innocent when one gets to know her. No matter whom or how many people she meets, Yong Pil remains the only person she truly loves.
“The Strong One,” Jo Jin Dal
The eldest sister, Jin Dal, is renowned not only in Samdalri but also throughout Jeju Island for her strength. During her school days, she always beat up delinquent students and was known for her strong sense of justice.
When she moved away from her hometown to become a flight attendant, Jin Dal met and married AS Group CEO Jeon Dae Young (Yang Kyung Won). However, even her in-laws ended up getting a taste of her strong sense of justice. Unable to tolerate all kinds of corruption and abuse of power towards the weak, Jin Dal taught AS Group a lesson, got divorced, and returned to her hometown.
Back in her hometown, Jin Dal winds up meeting her ex-husband again. The reunion between Jin Dal and her ex-husband Dae Young, who still has feelings for her even though her actions harmed AS Group, will bring laughter and excitement to viewers.
“The Cheeky One,” Jo Hae Dal
The youngest sister, Hae Dal, is called “the cheeky one” because she is not afraid to say things that she wants to say to anybody, regardless of their age or gender. Hae Dal, who has always been a strong and courageous person, found love at the age of 20 and got married. However, even before her daughter was born, her husband tragically passed away in a car accident, leaving her to raise their child alone.
Although she is the youngest among the three sisters, Jo Hae Dal is more mature than her sisters, having devoted the entirety of her twenties to raising her daughter Cha Ha Yul (Kim Do Eun) as a single mom.
Jo Hae Dal, who followed her sisters back to their hometown, will get entangled with Gong Ji Chan (Kim Min Cheol), the head of a dolphin protection group. Viewers can look forward to finding out whether Hae Dal will be able to find love again.
“Welcome to Samdalri” will premiere on December 2 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
