Lee Jin Wook, Go Min Si, And Jung Jinyoung Discuss Their "Sweet Home 2" Characters
“Sweet Home 2” cast members Lee Jin Wook, Go Min Si, and Jung Jinyoung have joined Harper’s Bazaar for a pictorial and interview!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Sweet Home” is a popular series about Cha Hyun Su (Song Kang), a loner high school student who moves into a new apartment when monsters start breaking out among humanity and the apartment residents are trapped inside the building. Season 2 will focus on how Cha Hyun Su and other survivors struggle to survive after leaving Green Home.
On November 24, Harper’s Bazaar released a new pictorial featuring three cast members of the upcoming drama “Sweet Home 2.” They revealed that actors Lee Jin Wook, Go Min Si, and Jung Jinyoung instantly immersed into the pictorial’s concept, which portrays them trapped in a dark and narrow space, and showcased their unique charms in front of the camera. In an interview that followed, each actor dished on their characters and impressions for Season 2.
Go Min Si, who reprises her character Eun Yu in Season 2, remarked, “Eun Yu has become more mature [compared to Season 1]. Looking back, I feel the same way. [“Sweet Home 2”] is the project that took me the longest time to find the essence of what it wanted to convey. Even at the beginning of filming, I was contemplating if there was more to it, and I communicated a lot with the directors. Looking back, I think Eun Yu was well portrayed thanks to such a difficult and confusing time.”
Lee Jin Wook, who portrays the character of Jung Ui Myeong who entered the body of Pyeon Sang Wook in Season 1, shared, “The backstory of the character Jung Ui Myeong will be drawn in Season 2. As shown by the character Pyeon Sang Wook in Season 1, there are complex and philosophical stories. He is a character who throws a lot of philosophical questions. Because he is an uncommon character, there was a lot to study, and since I had to portray [my character] within an absolutely set amount of [screen] time, I tried to condense that energy when filming.”
Jung Jinyoung, who takes on the role of Chan Yeong, a new character that appears for the first time from Season 2, shared, “Starting from season 2, it is a story that is not included in the original webtoon. I think Chan Yeong is a character that was born in the perspective of hope that there may be someone who wants to protect justice, someone who takes a [righteous] stand even in a devastated world.”
