"12.12: The Day" Surpasses 2 Million Moviegoers In Less Than A Week
“12.12: The Day” is sweeping the Korean box office!
According to the Korean Film Council, “12.12: The Day” reached a total of 2,001,178 moviegoers as of 1:05 p.m. KST on November 27, which is the sixth day of the film’s release.
The box office record of “12.12: The Day” surpassed the performances of previously released 2023 hit films including “Smugglers” and “Concrete Utopia,” which both exceeded two million moviegoers on the seventh day of release. Last week, it was announced that “12.12: The Day” surpassed 1 million moviegoers in less than four days.
Starring Hwang Jung Min, Jung Woo Sung, Lee Sung Min, Kim Sung Kyun, and more, “12.12: The Day” is a historical film about the real-life military coup that shook South Korea following the assassination of President Park Chung Hee in 1979.
