Song Ji Hyo Wins Lawsuit Against Former Agency, Who Promises To Pay Her The 984 Million Won She Is Owed
Song Ji Hyo has won her lawsuit against her former agency Uzu Rocks.
Earller this year, Song Ji Hyo terminated her contract with Uzu Rocks and filed a lawsuit against them for unpaid earnings. At the time, Uzu Rocks agreed to release Song Ji Hyo from her contract and apologized, acknowledging that the early termination of her contract was their fault.
On November 22, the Seoul Central District Court found in favor of Song Ji Hyo, ruling that Uzu Rocks owed her not only 984 million won (approximately $746,048) in unpaid earnings, but also an additional sum for delayed interest and more.
As Uzu Rocks received the judgement on November 28 and has not appealed the decision for two weeks (meaning the deadline to file an appeal has passed), Song Ji Hyo has officially won the lawsuit against her former agency.
On December 13, a representative of Uzu Rocks stated, “We plan to pay [Song Ji Hyo what she is owed].”
When asked why they had not appealed the court’s decision, the agency responded, “It’s right for us to pay [her what she’s owed]. We are at fault.”
Meanwhile, Song Ji Hyo’s legal representative stated, “We are currently internally discussing future measures against Uzu Rocks.”
